Triple Treat at the new Reconciliation Hospital in Juba, South Sudan

Jul 22, 2021

Triple Treat! The team at the new Reconciliation Hospital in Juba, South Sudan, recently had the unexpected pleasure of delivering triplets. Mother and baby boys (1.7, 1.9 and 1.9 kgs) are doing well thanks to timely medical care. Pictured here is Marianne, the new volunteer senior midwife from The Netherlands who helped oversee the delivery. Another volunteer midwife is due to commence shortly – both of whom are being funded by the Barbara May Foundation. The Maternity Unit has recently been added to the Fistula surgical unit opened last year where Dr. Andrew Browning is undertaking fistula repair surgery. The hospital is providing much needed capacity to a region that has been critically under-resourced in the past.
